Ron Davis details exit strategies for Washington BFAA

Long Grove IL, June 19, 2009 — Ron Davis, managing partner of Davis Marketing Group (AKA Graybeards), recently gave the keynote presentation to the Washington Burglar and Alarm Association at its luncheon meeting in Bellevue, WA

Mr. Davis’ presentation, entitled “In the Blink of an Eye – How to Develop an Exit Strategy that Works!” was a combination motivational and inspirational talk, aimed at encouraging the attendees to plan their exit strategies from their, in many cases, life-long careers.

“Each of us has to recognize that we are not going to live forever, and that we must prepare our companies and families for the eventual day when we will no longer be there to run the business,” Mr. Davis emphasized.

Mr. Davis encouraged the attendees to make a succession plan, involving other family members or by preparing the company in the most advantageous manner to achieve the highest value when sold to an outside party.

Margaret Spitznas, president of the WBFAA, explained that “the Washington Burglar and Fire Alarm Association was honored to have Ron Davis as our featured speaker at our annual all chapter meeting.  Ron is always a great speaker and we enjoyed his stories along with his message.  He left us all thinking about ‘what are we doing with the rest of our lives?’  Many members commented after the presentation that it was a very thought-provoking presentation.”

Approximately 100 people, including both dealers and suppliers, attended the event which included a trade show with several exhibitors.  Katie Bally, senior partner of DMG, also was present at the meeting.
