Counterforce Adds Accounts to its Portfolio, Acquires Acceptance Alarm
Security Systems News, June 2004
Houston, TX — Counterforce USA, a security services provider here, has expanded its geographic reach through the acquisition of Acceptance Alarm, a Detroit-based residential alarm company. Counterforce, a subsidiary of Chubb, acquired assets of Acceptance Alarm at the end of March — adding approximately 400 accounts to its portfolio, for an undisclosed sum.
“They already had a fairly significant base of accounts in Detroit,” said Ron Davis, managing partner of Davis Marketing Group, who handled the transaction. “This became very accretive to the base that they already had.”
Acceptance Alarm, which primarily works in the residential sector and has four employees, became interested in selling some of its accounts after the company’s owner, Mike Brasch, was unable to play a substantial role in operations due to health-related issues.”One of the things we looked at was cutting back here and selling accounts,” Linda Lindroff, president of Acceptance Alarm said.
Lindroff will continue in her current capacity, but the company will now conduct business under the Counterforce name. Davis and Lindroff both said they anticipate no further changes to the company’s day-to-day operations.Lindroff also noted that Counterforce’s purchase of the accounts would allow the small alarm company to analyze their current status in the security market.”We still have a couple hundred accounts left,” she said. “This will free up whatever time we have to service our remaining customers.
Counterforce’s service area extends throughout North America, and Davis said the company is always on the lookout for opportunities to increase its presence in the security industry. The company also recently acquired the assets of Ascot Alarm, also based in Houston.
