Sentinel Security, Inc. of Rockford, IL, Sells Assets to Certified Security Systems, Inc. of Chicago

June 28, 2004, Long Grove, IL — In the first of several transactions scheduled to close, Certified Security announced the acquisition of Sentinel Security, Inc. of Rockford, IL. This represents Certified Security’s first foray outside the Chicago metropolitan area and is considered, by many, how Certified will establish its footprint in the Midwest.

The seller in this transaction, Pat Gaffney, owner and President of Sentinel Security Inc., is thrilled with the transaction and intends to remain on as General Manager of the Rockford operations. Gaffney had this to say about the transaction: “We have a great business and great customers. It took us a long time to decide to sell the company. When we were approached with the terms and conditions of this deal, it was too good to pass up. We are confident our new alliance will only improve our company and customer service. Jay Rutili has a real vision of where he wants to take this company!”

Commenting on the acquisition, Rutili had this to say: “Having been in the Security Business since I was a teenager when I started Forest Security and later merged with Republic Industries, there has never been a better time to be in the Chicago Market. This is the third transaction in the last year, with several more signed and planning to close soon.”

Certified presently services its customers from it own central station located in River Grove Illinois.
