Dealing with Coronavirus, Doing Business and Uncertainty

Thoughts on Alarm industry responses druing the Coronavirus pandemic.

April 2, 2020

Steve Rubine’re all in our own boats on the same troubled waters. This virus is something that is so far reaching none of us know exactly what to do other than follow guidelines from the medical experts. It’s all personal and gut-wrenching, but we must make decisions based on the information and knowledge we receive. The world as we’ve known it will never be the same.
What can we do about our businesses? Here’s my advice, for whatever it’s worth: As owners, take charge. Whether your employees are home, in the office or in the field, communicate with them daily. They need to hear from you now more than ever. Make sure all of them understand how vital they are to your company; that you so much appreciate their contribution and care about the safety and well-being of each of them and their families.
Develop strategies for now and the future so your company survives and hits the ground running when this terrible disease starts dissipating. Work this plan with your people, ask them for suggestions. Recognize and acknowledge that they are part of the solution for your company and their co-workers.
Look at every day as it is — a brand new day, with new challenges and new opportunities. At the end of the day, feel good that you did the best you could under these trying times. Analyze the day. What did you learn from today that can be used tomorrow?
There’s so much more but if you do the above, I know one thing for sure — you’ll never have to look back and say to yourself, “I wish I had…”
Whether your boat is a rowboat or a yacht, WE ALL WILL BE RID OF THIS TERRIBLE DISEASE AND BE STRONGER THAN EVER!
If you’d like to talk with us about anything, call or email. We are great listeners and sometimes have some pretty great ideas. We’re here to help.
